“到高校任教是我人生中的一次重要选择。无论是学术研究上的进步，还是学生的成长，都让我很有成就感。”在西安交通大学任教的台湾教师廖政贸表示，在大陆求学工作十余年，自己的收获感满满。
出生于台北的廖政贸在台湾完成大学本科教育后，选择到北京大学继续深造，后又来到西安交通大学任教。这一切都源于他的“教师梦”。
“我在台湾工作了一段时间后，越发感觉到教师才是我梦想中的职业。从台湾到大陆是经过深思熟虑的。我认为在大陆求学和工作，会给我带来更多的机遇。”廖政贸说，因自小对中华传统文化十分感兴趣，对唐诗宋词中描写的风光很是向往。
2002年考上大学本科后，廖政贸选择到大陆旅游，也是对自己的一次“奖励”。那是他第一次到大陆，当诗词中的描写映入眼帘后，他深感震撼。
在台湾上本科期间，廖政贸有机会到北京大学做了短暂的交流生，受益匪浅，也让他后来选择到北京大学继续学习深造。在北京大学攻读完博士学位后，廖政贸选择留在大陆，到西安交通大学任教。
“西安交通大学作为一所知名高校，十分重视对青年教师的培养，也能给予我成长的平台和空间。”如今已是西安交通大学新闻与新媒体学院助理教授的廖政贸说，学校的学术研究氛围十分好，与不同学者的交流也让他开阔了学术视角。
“教学是我很喜欢的事，与学生分享我的所想所思，看着他们一点点成长进步，特别有成就感。今年开始招收硕士研究生，也让我多了一份责任感。”廖政贸坦言，两岸文化同根同源，加之他在台湾和大陆的求学工作经历，教学过程中也没有隔阂感。
工作之余，廖政贸很享受在西安的生活。他喜欢“探店”、品美食、看美景、游览古迹等，尤其喜欢去参观各个博物馆，感受历史沉淀与风土人情，自然而然地融入了这里的生活。
“喜欢中华传统文化的我有着浓厚的人文情怀，而西安这座千年古都，历史文化底蕴深厚，与我十分契合，这也是我选择来西安工作的一个重要原因。”廖政贸说，在西安的生活让他感到十分惬意。
“我喜欢与台湾的家人朋友们分享我在大陆的工作生活故事，同样我也乐于与我大陆的朋友同事们分享台湾的点点滴滴。”廖政贸表示，希望通过自己的所见所闻，让大家增进了解。
从2002年第一次来大陆旅游，到如今在大陆工作。廖政贸告诉记者，二十余年间，大陆发展之迅速从城市面貌、交通、民众生活中都“可窥一斑”。
